Head Start Program offers strategies for building positive relationships, helping children develop self-regulation and responding to challenging behaviors in a sanitized and safe environment.
Admission into the Head Start program is based on social economic status of parents. It is free.
Skills that Children Will Learn
- Develop self control and consideration for others when playing in activities
- Experience confidence in myself and interest in learning
- Learn to show appropriate behavior in situations
- Beginning to establish relationships with peers.
- Exhibiting independence with basic skills in handwashing, using cups, basic table manners, etc.
- Understanding basic routines within the classroom.
- Displaying the willingness to help with classroom activities
- Showing their understanding of emotions.
- Recognizing basic vocabulary
- Asking or prompting the teacher for assistance.
